0333 Numbers should not be confused with 0300 Numbers. 0300 numbers are used only by charities and not for profit UK organisations. 0333 Numbers however can be used by anyone. They were first created by the telecoms regulator OFCOM in 2007 to reflect the growing use of mobile phones to make calls, as unlike 08 numbers they are charged at the same rate regardless of whether the call is made from a landline or a mobile. This was in part a response to demands that the freephone elements of 08 numbers applied to calls made from mobiles as well as landlines. Calls to an 0333 number cost the same to make as calls to a standard geographic number, ie. 020 numbers in London, 01 numbers around the rest of the country, and therefore they are often used by services such as doctors and police authorities. Companies cannot make any profit from using them.
If you still haven't found what you're looking for, try The 0845 Number Company or if you have any questions don't be nervous about calling us for advice – we're here to help. An 0845 number is a low call number if you are calling it from a UK landline, meaning that the person making the phonecall only pays a low amount, usually between 3 and 5p per minute. It gives callers the impression of being a national company.
We can route your new 0333 or 0845 number to any mobile phone or landline. You can also get a fax number from us to match your new number, which conveniently converts faxes sent from ordinary fax machines into PDF documents and sends them straight to your email inbox, meaning you save on electricity, paper, ink and toner, helping you to save money and the environment. It also saves on the cost of purchasing a fax machine!
